EMPOWERING REFUGEE MOTHERS ONE STITCH AT A TIME

د راتلونکي لپاره د هیلو ګنډل

Bibi Collective is a story of courage, resilience and women empowerment. Seven women fled their homes in Afghanistan after the government fell to the Taliban. Their journey from Afghanistan to America has not been an easy one. Leaving behind their families – mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers--they stepped into a world where they did not speak the language.

REBUILDING LIVES THROUGH EMBROIDERY

The women use their embroidery skills traditionally reserved for personal dresses and home furnishings, to generate income. Each runs her own Etsy shop, manages her own bank account, and has full autonomy to design and produce what she wants. For the first time in their lives, they have their own income.
